Martin Längle: New Head of SEEDMECH Division

As Head of SEEDMECH Division, I have been responsible for the global activities of WINTERSTEIGER AG in the agricultural field experimentation sector since November 2010.
I spent the first twenty years of my life in Vorarlberg, Austria's westernmost province. This was followed by my economics degree at Innsbruck University. My travelling years began during my degree course which took me on study trips to Spain, France and the USA. As the overseas delegate for the Liebherr corporate group, I was initially based in Miami/USA where I was responsible as Sales Executive for mobile harbor cranes for Latin America, the Caribbean and parts of North America. I was later entrusted with establishing the sales office for Liebherr Port Equipment Latin America in Sao Paolo/Brazil which I headed for three years. Finally, as Head of Division, I was entrusted with the interesting task of managing the Iberian Peninsula, Liebherr Port Equipment's most important market worldwide, and I did this for four very successful years.
I decided last autumn to end my long years of wandering and return to Austria. My experience in the mechanical engineering industry and my interest in the sunrise industry of agriculture not to mention in science and research as well as WINTERSTEIGER AG's attractive offer tipped the scales for my decision.
Population growth, limited cultivation areas and global climate change signify huge challenges for agriculture and therefore also for field experimentation. Increasing efficiency by means of technical innovation in seed breeding, crop protection and cultivation methods is indispensable for increasing yields and improving the food supply of the world's population. As the world's most important supplier of the agricultural field experimentation sector, WINTERSTEIGER AG makes a significant contribution.
I have made it my objective, together with our Product Management and in close cooperation with the users of our machines and products, to continually identify the constantly changing requirements on our products and to incorporate them in the creation of a new and innovative product range. Another of my aims is to enhance our strong market presence and customer proximity even more by further developing our sales and service organization.
With my team at WINTERSTEIGER SEEDMECH, I am looking forward to excellent and successful cooperation with you, our customers, who represent the capital and the future of WINTERSTEIGER AG.
