Race NC: Race Service for Winners

World market leader WINTERSTEIGER presents the new Race NC: a trend-setting, race service stone grinding machine for processing alpine, cross-country and jump skis. The first World Cup successes in cross-country skiing were achieved shortly after its market launch and industry experts are expecting further medals by using the Race NC at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Ten years ago WINTERSTEIGER's Micro NC race service stone grinding machine set new standards in race tuning. There followed a continuous enhancement process which would incorporate the knowledge and new technologies of recent years. The result of this process - the innovative Race NC - is a product of the close cooperation between WINTERSTEIGER and a number of national skiing associations and ski manufacturers' racing departments. The new must-have Stone Grinder for race service offers the grinding specialist everything his heart desires: superior technology, ease of handling and a compact size that makes transporting the machine considerably more convenient. The first World Cup successes were recorded shortly after the market launch: "grinding guru" Stefano Vuerich from Italy achieved top rankings in cross-country skiing with Race NC finishes. Atomic Ski Company and Olaf Stuveseth from Norway are already pinning their hopes on the new Race NC. WINTERSTEIGER's innovative race service stone grinding machine will also be used to help athletes gain top rankings at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

What makes the Race NC different: innovation and precision

The Race NC's laser sensor automatically adjusts the grinding stone in line with wear ensuring a constant grinding height. A new system patented by WINTERSTEIGER also guarantees even, precise structures over the whole ski length. The Race NC is the first machine with automatic grinding pressure control. This means that it continuously measures the effective grinding pressure between the ski and the stone and adjusts it electronically.

Maximum precision is achieved by continuous and dynamic balancing of the grinding stone directly on the machine. This ensures that the stone runs absolutely vibration-free. The machine's user-friendliness is yet another important plus point of WINTERSTEIGER's new Race NC. The color monitor with touch screen technology is simple and intuitive to operate thanks to its clear user prompting. Designed to transport to major events the Race NC features a compact construction which enables fast, straightforward transport and the machine can also be shipped effortlessly by air. Once at the destination, the Race NC can be set up directly against a wall thus saving precious space both at competitions and also in the workshops at home.

Maximum Flexibility: One Machine for All Disciplines

Be it alpine, cross-country or jump skis: the flexible ski-centering abilities ensure that skis from all three disciplines can be processed. The Race NC demonstrates its prowess with this unbeatable variety of structures: different structures may be applied across the width of a standard stone (width = 150 mm) making it useful for both pre-grinding and structuring of cross-country skis. Separate grinding stones with a width of 70 mm are also available for cross-country skis.
